Kids' Zone is a dedicated platform created by SFRI during the annual Open Day at IISc, to spark curiosity among young minds by showcasing basic school-level science experiments.
Each year, IISc's Open Day offers a glimpse into its research. To engage young minds, the "Kids' Zone" platform was created, where students demonstrate basic science experiments. Since 2017, SFRI's flagship event Kids' Zone has been held seven times including a Digital Kids Zone in 2021.
Since it started, Kids' Zone has drawn 1,500-2,000 students each year during IISc's Open Day. Researchers show 40-50 experiments on subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, and current issues like COVID and global warming.
Kids' Zone debuted at IISc's 2017 Open Day with 45 experiments, becoming a huge success and inspiring young visitors.
